Released at NAB the new ARRI L-Series are three LED Fresnel fixtures so close to their conventional equivalents in function and performance that they  create a previously unattainable opportunity: like-for-like replacement of traditional Fresnels with LED-based units.

The L7-T, L7-D and L7-C are the first LED fixtures to truly incorporate Fresnel characteristics such as continuous focusability from spot to flood and a smooth, homogenous light field. L stands for LED and 7 for the 7" Fresnel-like lens shared by all three models. It is in color output that they differ: the L7-T is 3200 K (matching tungsten), the L7-D is 5600 K (matching daylight), and the L7-C is color controllable.

Quality of light begins with the field. Smooth intensity, uniform color, even illumination: all are traits shared by the L-Series and conventional ARRI Fresnels. And, as Fresnel fixtures are workhorses of the lighting industry, designers and technicians now have nothing new to learn in order to use LED technology.

The UR3 is a plug on wireless transmitter designed to work with the UHF-R series (and in essence the new Axient wireless system), which will turn virtually any type of wired microphone into a wireless microphone. Unlike other plug on transmitters, the UR3’s ergonomic design allows the user to hold the body of the transmitter, fitting the curve of the hand, and recessed signal and battery indication LEDs permit the user to monitor the status, without the light emitted being picked up on camera.

The UR3 features a microphone preset list, so commonly used microphones can have their settings stored within the unit, saving time on set up for different microphone types, and a high-pass filter can also be activated if required.

The UR3 also features a full range of phantom power provided from two “AA” batteries.

The UR5 is a portable camera mount single channel receiver for UHF-R wireless transmitters. The receiver (roughly the size of a belt pack) is full featured with diversity antennas, full bandwidth scan and synch at the touch of a button, headphone monitoring output jack, mic and aux-level balanced output.

Camera seats: cameras into orbit: In 2001 the Orbiter 500 superflat, a mobile and modular low shooting cameraseat was introduced as the first of now 10 different models to the European market and soon became a familiar sight at sports locations. At the currently carried out 2011 women`s FIFA soccer World Cup in Germany the Orbiter camera seat is standard used at all centre pitch sideline cameras between the coaches, close to the third referee  like in the German soccer Bundesliga since 2007. Since 2002, various Orbiter models were in use in every stadium, offering low-level, almost vibration free shots at all European soccer leagues and major global competitions especially world cup 2006 + 2010 such as EURO 2004 + 2008.  At soccer matches it is used along with any low shooting camera, at tennis close to the net or at athletics at the end of jump disciplines, but has proved its efficiency also at competitions in bobsleigh, figure skating and even at classic concerts. All Orbiter models allow independent movement of camera and seat, but on the same axis. There are two remarkable and patented features of this system:
Contrary to other systems, the seat of the Orbiter is not directly connected to the camera column, so very little shock motion is transmitted from the operator to the camera.  In addition, its central cable feeding allows trouble-free movement with a range of up to 360°. The Orbiter's compact design, its effortless handling and its noiseless operation set new standards for mobile applications internationally
ORBITER.TV now focuses on other sports applications such as cricket and football and considers the SMPTE exhibition an excellent platform to promote the Orbiters qualities in the Australasian region.
       
Cable drums: protecting the fibre + measure made optimising use of space: The custom made cable drums of ORBITER.TV meet the enhanced requirements of fiber optic cables and mobile applications.  Most measurements can be chosen by the customer. This means the best possible use of storage room, especially in mobile OB units. ORBITER.TV's cable drums are delivered in two different patterns of 50 x 50 cm and 60 x 60 cm in height and depth. The width is measuremade, relating to the demanded length and diameter of each single cable.  This makes it possible to make best use of space by maintaining the drums as compact as possible. The lightweight aluminum structure reduces the user's physical effort to carry it, round aluminum tubes provide comfortable and painless grips for transportation. The drum can easily be rotated with a manual crank that stays attached to the drum an can be stacked up to 4 metres/ 13 ft height by means of centring devices. The main focus of our cable drums lies on the requirements of fibre optic cables, which need to be handled and stored more carefully than conventional cables. The ORBITER drum has excess patch storage room and an adjustable fixing point for the connector inside the drum, to avoid damages to expensive fibre connectors.  All this means the best possible adaptation of our cable drum system to requirements of limited space, working conditions and fiber optics. Same time the ORBITER drum saves money. The structure is designed very rugged to match the extraordinary stresses and strains of everyday OB-use. This leads to a very long lasting period of its service life compared to other products wearing out much quicker creating cost for replacement. The oldest cable drums delivered in 2006 have made over 1 Million cycles without any reclamatins. (April, 2011). Stand B41
