DIMENSIONALE™ FILM FESTIVAL
A highlight of SMPTE09 was the 3D Film Festival "Dimensionale ™". SMPTE and ACS invited film students, cinematographers and directors to enter their 3D films for inclusion in the Festival. All entries were screened on the exhibition floor over the duration of SMPTE09 in Room 1 between Conference sessions.
The top 3 entries were announced and awarded prizes at the Gala Awards Evening on Wednesday July 22.
SMPTE was proud to bring to the exhibition floor, in conjuction with Women in Film and Television, the best resources in our industry, covering all aspects of developing your career in a highly competitive industry.

The 2009 Conference presented five streams of interest: Modern Cinema, Content Creation & Management, Delivery, Audio, and Training/Education & Mentoring. There were a variety of options to book to attend the Conference: Full Conference, single day, and individual sessions, all designed to fit around work schedules.
Papers are high-level engineering, conceptual or scientific presentations that will evoke the brain cells and stir discussions and questions.
Master Classes are close up and detailed sessions to inform and educate through industry innovations, technologies and in-field experiences presented by experts.
Boot Camps reach out to students and new employees in need of basic knowledge and training.

Celebrate industry excellence at the SMPTE09 Gala Awards Evening. In association with Content + Technology magazine the evening featured the Content + Technology Awards for Innovation. Winners of the Dimensionale™ Film Festival were announced. Plus, the inaugural SMPTE Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Australian Film & Television was announced to a legend in the industry - Jack Thompson, who was present to accept the Award.
